Jerry Dean Johnson: Mullins

    Jerry Dean Johnson of Mullins died Friday, Jan. 23 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston after an illness. He was 49.
    Dean was born Sept. 11, 1965 in Conway, a son of the late Jerry Johnson and the late Inez Harper Grainger.
    He was an engineer for EASB.
    Mr. Johnson is survived by a daughter, Heather Johnson-Godwin and her husband Bobby Godwin of Fair Bluff; three grandchildren, Alyx, Lylian and Noah Godwin; two brothers, Jimmy “Bishop” Johnson and Thomas Dale Grainger, both of Myrtle Beach; and Uncle, Larue Harper of Mullins; two aunts, Lutricia Clouse of Ridgeville and Betty Johnson of Dillon; and a Special Friend, Alice Dix.
    Dean was predeceased by his stepfather, Archie Grainger; a sister, Teri Davis; and an uncle, C.L. Harper.
    Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins, with burial following in Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
