Dorothy Viola Duncan: Tabor City

    Dorothy Viola Duncan of Tabor City died Wednesday, Feb. 4 in Lower Cape Hospice and LifeCareCenter, Whiteville. She was 85.
    Born Feb. 10, 1929 in Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Ervin Van Coleman and Hessie Viola Norris Coleman.
    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Benston Duncan; one son, Irvin Larry Duncan; three brothers, Aaron Coleman, Ivan Ray Coleman, Travis Clayborn Coleman; one sister, Worley Ann Soska; two great grandchildren.
    She is survived by one daughter, Maurnice Duncan Johnson of Tabor City; three sons, Lloyd Duncan of Tabor City, Mickey Ray Duncan of Tabor City, Terry Duncan of Spartanburg; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
    Visitation was planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 in Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.
    Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, Tabor City, with burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.
