Ronald Gene Cox: Little River

    Ronald Gene Cox of Little River passed away Friday, Feb. 13. He was 65.
    Mr. Cox was born in Loris, a son of Eunice Johnson Cox and the late Joe Burnis Cox, Jr. He was a graduate of Loris High School and Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
    Mr. Cox served in the Navy from 1967 to 1971 and was employed by Myrtle Beach Grand Prix for more than 20 years. He was President of USAR Hooters Pro Cup Racing Series for 11 years.
    Mr. Cox was a member of Camp Swamp United Methodist Church.
    He is survived by his wife, Gail Blanton Cox of the home; two sons, Tony Cox and his wife Medissa of Myrtle Beach, and Matt Cox of Little River; one sister, Gayle Cox Steed and her husband Dickie of Statham, Georgia; one brother, Neil Cox and his wife Heather of Aynor; and three grandchildren, Anna Brice Cox, Cade Cox, and Cowen Cox all of Myrtle Beach; and an abundance of extended family and friends.
    Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Rev. Jim Evans officiating, burial following in Bellamy-Brooks Memorial Gardens.
    Visitation was planned for the hour prior to the service at Goldfinch Funeral Home.
