John Robert Carter, Jr.: Loris
John Robert “Jack” Carter, Jr. of Loris, passed away Thursday, March 5 at his daughters home in Greenbrier, Arkansa following an illness. He was 80.
Born on Jan. 17, 1935 in Loris, he was the son of Mr. John Robert Carter, Sr. and Mrs. Lillie Magnolia Hardee Carter. Mr. Carter served his country with courage and honor in the United States Army, after which he worked with Hardee Manufacturing Company until his retirement.
Survivors include his daughter, Jacquelyn “Jackie” E. Carter of Greenbrier, Arkansas; brother, Ken Carter of Loris; three sisters, Pauline Collins of Fayeteville, Michelle Cox of Surfside Beach, and Hilda Wright of Tabor City, and one loving grandson, Robert P. Jackson of Greenbrier, Arkansas.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Carter was predeceased by one brother, Harold Carter; one sister, Louise Hardwick and two grandsons, Michael E. Jackson and J. Stephen Jackson.
A memorial visitation was held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 8 at the home of Ken Carter.
