Early start for Spring Festival

Rain threatened the Spring Festival parade through downtown Tabor City Saturday morning, prompting an early start that proved pretty much unnecessary.
Sprinkles fell as the parade rolled from Tabor City Middle School at 10:30 a.m. When the procession had made its circle through downtown and was back at the school by 11 a.m., that rain was gone.
Another brief sprinkle was gone by the time events in the Great Grace parking lot were scheduled to begin at noon, and while there was some wind, there was no more rain.
A DJ on the main stage brought dancers out, as a rock clime and slide drew children to the kids area, vendors provided a variety of food for the third annual festival.
