Mary Fonvielle: Tabor City

    Mary Fonvielle of Tabor City died Monday, April 6 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter, Whiteville. She was 90.
    Born May 12, 1924 in Marion County, she was the daughter of the late Claudus Blanton and Sally Rowell Blanton.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Clifford Fonvielle; one son, Russell Blanton Fonvielle; and one daughter-in-law, Alice Fonvielle.
    She is survived by two sons, Carlton Monroe of Tabor City, Leon Edward Fonvielle and wife Leann of Tabor City; seven grandchildren, Chuck Fonvielle, Jake Fonvielle, Jeremy Fonvielle, Hunter Fonvielle, Kelly Miller, Andressa Chapman, Garrett Fonvielle; and eight great grandchildren.
    Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Thursday, April 9 in Tabor City Baptist Church, with burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.
    Visitation was planned for one hour prior to the service in the church.
