Susie S. Cribb: Whiteville
Susie S. Cribb of Alton Singletary Road, Whiteville, died Saturday, May 2, in Liberty Commons Nursing Home. She was 100.
Born Oct. 14, 1914 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Helen Ring Singletary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Johnnie Cribb; six brothers, James Singletary of Charleston, Archie Singletary and Montroes Singletary of Avon Park, Florida, Johnny Singletary of Tabor City, Jasper Singletary and Alton Singletary of Whiteville; three sisters, Addie Phipps and Rosa Lee S. Hucks Johnson of Conway, Ollie Gurganus of Clarendon.
She is survived by one son, Ed Ray Cribb and wife Louise of Whiteville; four daughters, Helen Long and husband Donald Ray of Little River, Shelvy Hooks and husband Marshall of Hallsboro, Dorothy Gore and husband Joe of Whiteville, Brenda Dew and husband Bobby of Whiteville; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.
She was of the Holiness faith and attended church faithfully until her sickness.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 4 in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.
Pallbearers were Ronald Ray Cribb, Dale Cribb, Jimmy Cribb, Johnny Cribb, Gary Hooks, Mitchell Gore, and Wayne Long as honorary pallbearer.
