Richard Wayne “Ricky” Floyd: Green Sea

    Richard Wayne “Ricky” Floyd of Green Sea, age 68, passed away on Friday, May 1 at his home following a sudden illness. He was 68.
    Born on March 31, 1947 in Green Sea, he was the son of Mr. John R. Floyd and Mrs. Gladys Rosada Fowler Floyd. Mr. Floyd was a retired construction worker and longtime member of Green Sea Baptist Church.
     Survivors include his wife, Patsy Norris Floyd of the home; two daughters, Amy Nobles and husband, Jonathan of Tabor City, and Tina Cartrette and husband, Mark of Whiteville; one son, Brian Cartrette of Orlando, Florida; three grandchildren, B.J. James, Autumn James Tedder and Hannah Nobles; one great-grandson, Grant Tedder; two brothers, Joe Floyd, Sr. and wife, Brenda of Green Sea, and Mitchell Floyd and wife, Pat of Green Sea; sister, Sara Jean Spittle and husband, Hiram of Sumter, SC and step-sister, Jo Ann Jacobs of Loris.
     In addition to his parents Mr. Floyd was predeceased by one brother, John Ronald Floyd.
     Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 5 at Green Sea Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Phillips officiating. Committal services followed at Green Sea Cemetery.
