J. D. Cox: Loris

    J. D. Cox of Loris passed away Sunday, May 10. He was 97.
    Mr. Cox was born in Loris a son of the late John Davis Cox, Sr., and the late Helen Jane Skipper Cox.
    He was predeceased by his wife of 73 years, Ruby Lee Cox; one son, Leonard Cox; one daughter, Gloria Williams; three brothers, Boyd Cox, Jack Cox, and Tom Cox; three sisters, Daisy Faircloth, Gracie Singletary, and Dalma Cox.
    Survivors include one son, Ronnie Cox of Loris; three daughters, Irene Grainger of Conway, Lauretta Smith of Tabor City, and Janice Johnson of Loris; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one brother; Lloyd Cox of Loris; and two sisters, Gladys Raspovich and Jane Bell both of Loris.
    Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, from the Mausoleum Chapel at Twin City Memorial Gardens with Rev. J. T. Adams officiating.  
    The family planned to receive friends in the Mausoleum Chapel during the hour preceding the funeral.
