Melissa Butler Soles: Longs

    Melissa Butler Soles of Longs passed away peacefully with her beloved family by her side on Monday, May 11. She was 49.
    Melissa was preceded in death by her loving parents, J. R. “Jimmy” Butler and Linda Hammond Butler; paternal grandparents, Rufus and Laurie Butler; maternal grandparents, M. E. and Elizabeth Hammond; and her beloved husband, Charlie Soles.
    Those left to cherish Melissa’s memory are her devoted sister and best friend, Valarie Butler Davis and her husband Guilds Davis of Charleston; her stepdaughter, Jessica Soles of Wilmington; stepmother, Hilda Butler of Parkton, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
    A celebration of Melissa’s life was planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16 at Camp Swamp United Methodist Church with Rev. Glen Dameron and Rev. Chip Whilden. Committal services will follow in the Butler Cemetery.  
    The family planned to receive friends after the committal service in the Camp Swamp United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.  
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Butler Cemetery, 250 Pond Road, Longs, SC 29568; Camp Swamp United Methodist Church, 853 Camp Swamp Road, Loris, SC 29569; or to a charity of one’s choice to fight cancer.
