Billie Jo Fowler Lancaster: Tabor City
Billie Jo Fowler Lancaster passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 20, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Tabor City. She was 69.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.C. “Cha” Fowler and Isadora Fowler, her brother, Larry Fowler, and her sister, Peggy Fowler.
Survivors are her beloved son, Jody Lancaster of Little River; a sister, Alice F. Porter (Levi) of Tabor City; a sister-in-law, Renea A. Fowler of Little River; nephews and nieces, Jeffrey L. Porter (Kathy) of Little River, La-Cha Porter-Goff (Kim) of Loris, and Annadora Fowler of Little River, great nephew Jeffrey Lance Porter of Charleston, and great niece Edith Lauren Porter-Rogers (Keith) of Little River, and a special friend, Bill Enzor of Cerro Gordo.
Special caregivers were Margie Tyler, Nizie Suggs, and Kelly Miller.
Billie Jo was a “mover and doer”! She was a self-employed cosmetologist and hairdresser that saw and brought out the beauty in everyone. She was a talented decorator, had a beautiful yard, and attended Beaverdam Church.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, at Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.
Private funeral services were to be conducted by Rev. Buddy Seay, with burial in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 110 Cinema Drive, Suite A, Wilmington, NC 28403.
