John Kelly Sellers, Jr.: Whiteville

    John Kelly “Junior” Sellers, Jr. of Whiteville passed away Friday, May 29, in Duke University Hospital, Durham. He was 76.
    Born Aug. 15, 1938 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late John Kelly and Ruth Tyree Sellers.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Sellers, O’Neil Sellers, R.C. Sellers; and one daughter, Robbie Jo Sellers.
    He is survived by his wife, Marie Godwin Sellers of the home; two daughters, Penny McPherson and husband Handy, Sherry Duncan and husband Bryant; one son, Terry Sellers and wife Linda; one brother, Graham Sellers; two sisters, Bonnie Council and Betty Ward; seven grandchildren, Steven Sellers, Barry Sellers (Brittany), Hugh Thomas McPherson (Erica), Hunter McPherson, Travis Sykes (Amy), Kelly Cribb (Brandon), and Joe Sellers (Melissa); ten great grandchildren, Reah Sellers, Kloe Sellers, Jaxon Sellers, Tanner Sykes, Summer Strickland, Chase Soles, Maclyn Soles, Collin Sellers, Mason Sellers, and Aubrey Sellers.
    Visitation was planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 31, in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.
    Funeral Services were planned for 3 p.m. Monday, June 1, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Lebanon Church Cemetery, Whiteville.
