Student charged with gun-on-bus claim

By DEUCE NIVEN

A student at Green Sea Floyds High School has been charged with disturbing schools, accused of saying he had a gun and was going to use it as he was being taken home from school, Lt. Raul Denis of the Horry County Police Department said Thursday.
That bus was stopped on Coats Road at Green Sea Road about 1:10 p.m. when she heard the student make the comment, Denis said in a news release. Police were contacted through a dispatcher, and HCPD officers quickly responded, searched the student and bus, an no guns were found, Denis said.
Police took the student, who will not be identified because of his age, back to the school and charged him, Denis said.
