Allene Skipper Floyd: Longs

    Allene Skipper Floyd of Longs, age 96, passed away Saturday, June 6 after an extended illness. She was 96.
    Mrs. Floyd was born in Horry County on April 17, 1919 the daughter of the late Robert James Skipper and the late Addie Lezette Hardee Skipper.
    Mrs. Floyd was predeceased by her husband, Dayton Walter Floyd; her brothers, Alton James Skipper, Clyde Waldo Skipper, and Allen Venoy Skipper; sisters, Bertha Skipper Cox, Lorraine Skipper Noles, and Ethel Skipper Hardee.
    Surviving are her three children, Jean Floyd Smith of Lexington, Sylvia Floyd Johnson of Greenville, NC, and Carroll Floyd of Longs; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 9 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.
    Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with interment in Twin City Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Wendell Ray and the Rev. Donnie Graham were to officiate. Pallbearers were to be Dayton Todd, Harold Hardee, Randall Cox, Kevin Davidson, Gregory Hardee, and Jimmy Cox, all nephews of the deceased.
    The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Evelyn Panecki, their mother’s dedicated caregiver for 11 years. The family would also like to thank the staff of Mercy Hospice.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 2558 West Bear Grass Road, Loris, SC 29569.
