Voncile “Vonnie” Huggins: Green Sea

    Voncile “Vonnie” Huggins of Green Sea entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 6. She was 87.
    Miss Huggins was born Nov. 1, 1927 in Horry County, a daughter of the late Ira Bright Huggins and the late Mary Margaret McQueen Huggins. She was a member of the Green Sea Baptist Church.
    Miss Huggins was predeceased by four brothers, Robert, Howard, Hubert, and Clayton Huggins and three sisters, Mildred Harrelson, Hazel Hinson and Flora McGougan.
    Survivors include her brothers, Claude Huggins of Little River, Bright Huggins and his wife Roberta of Hartsville, and her sisters, Verna H. Blanton of Folly Beach, Lottie Ann Jones and her husband Howard of Bessemer City, and Betty Grainger and her husband Junior of Tabor City. She is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews that loved her dearly.
    A Celebration of Life service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at Green Sea Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Phillips officiating. Burial followed in Green Sea Cemetery. Family planned to receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
