Furney Defentrice “Dee” Buffkin: Tabor City

    Furney Defentrice “Dee” Buffkin of Tabor City died Friday, June 12, in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach. He was 81.
    Born in Horry County, he was the son of the late Tom William Buffkin and Frosty Pridgen Buffkin.
    He is survived by his wife of 61 years Shelby Jean Buffkin of the home; two sons, James William Buffkin and wife Gail of Nichols and Furney Dale Buffkin and wife Robin of Tabor City; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren,
    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Buffkin, and five brothers.
    Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Hammond Cemetery, Nichols. Visitation was planned for the hour before the funeral in the funeral home.
