Christian conversation

Steve Epp (left) passed through Tabor City on Monday, taking a break at Williams Township on the way to the border town, all part of a nationwide walking tour he says will end in San Diego, California, “unless Jesus comes back first.”
His progress is slowed, interruptions he seems to relish, as people stop and visit, share stories of faith and need. With those who are willing, the Church of the Nazarene pastor will pray. Haywood McKoy III, a Hallsboro resident and pastor of ACTS Christian Ministries in Wilmington, tracked Epp down Monday morning, sharing support and inviting him to return for a county-wide crusade being planned for this fall.
From Tulsa, Oklahoma, Epp says he’s been in every state in the Union except Alaska and Wisconsin, and found North Carolina to be “the most Christian, the most giving, the most charitable place I’ve been.”
