Fire gutted most of a Lebanon Church Road cabinet shop Monday afternoon.
Firefighters and equipment from Tabor City and Nakina backed up the Williams Township Volunteer Fire Department, pumping thousands of gallons of water on the fire that consumed most of the southern end of the block and metal structure, while mostly sparing the separate, northern end.
Harold Fowler owns and operates the cabinet shop, Columbus County Fire Marshal Shannon Blackmon said.
Investigators were trying to determine what caused the fire Monday night.
