Harlee Henry McDowell: Tabor City

    Harlee Henry McDowell of Tabor City died Friday, Aug. 28. He was 79.
    Born June 29, 1936 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Henry Buck McDowell and Dorothy Hewett McDowell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Lewis McDowell.
    He is survived by his daughter, Rockie McDowell Young of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Shirley Buffkin of Tabor City; and two grandchildren.
    He was a veteran of the United States Army.
    Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, Tabor City, with burial following in the Sandy Plain Baptist Church Cemetery, Tabor City.
