Irene P. Davis: Loris

1934-2015

    Irene P. Davis of Loris passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23. She was 81.
    Mrs. Davis was born in Loris, a daughter of the late Garcy and Lena Porter.  She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was a preschool Sunday School Teacher for many, many years.  Mrs. Davis was previously employed at Loris Manufacturing and spent several years working in child care.  She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Dayton Davis; one son, Chris Reed Davis; and one grandchild, Alexis Grey Davis.
    Survivors include her daughter, Myra Davis Littlejohn and her husband Brant of Myrtle Beach; two grandchildren, Tracy Floyd and his wife Michelle and Kali Davis all of Myrtle Beach; two great-grandchildren, Davis Floyd and Silas Floyd both of Myrtle Beach; one sister, Vivian Trout of West Palm Beach, Florida; one brother, Lewis Porter and his wife Bobbie of Conway; one daughter-in-law, Paige Roach and her son Dalton both of Myrtle Beach, and numerous cherished loved ones.
    A celebration of life was planned for 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26 at Macedonia Baptist Church. Family planned to receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.  Burial in Holly Hill Cemetery was to be private.
