Buster Durden: Tabor City

Buster Durden of Tabor City died Friday, Sept. 25, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter, Whiteville. He was 72.
Born in Columbus County, he was the son the late Richard Pink Durden and Lou Berta Coleman Durden.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Beck (Steven) of Tabor City and Robin Cartrettte (Terry) of Cerro Gordo; a son, Rocky Durden (Michelle) of Chadbourn; seven grandchildren, Jessica Inman, Buster R. Davis, Daniel L. Davis, Brooke Rowe, Steven Beck Jr. Rocky Durden Jr. and Justin L. Durden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lila Mae Severine; a brother, Billy Durden; a sister, Kathleen Ward; and a grandson, Hobie Cartrette.
Visitation was planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.
