1928 – 2015
Julia Rebecca Hardwick McQueen of Loris passed away Sunday, Sept. 27 at her home following an illness. She was 87.
Mrs. McQueen was born on Sept. 27, 1928 in Nichols, the daughter of the late Mr. Clifford Hugh Hardwick and the late Mrs. Oddie Harrelson Hardwick.
Mrs. McQueen retired from the Horry County School System, having taught home economics at Green Sea High School and she was the librarian at Daisy Elementary for many years. Mrs. McQueen was a loving mother and a longtime member of Loris First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her two daughters, Cheryl McQueen and Julie McQueen both of Loris.??
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McQueen was predeceased by her husband, Charles Price McQueen and her brother, Jack Everette Hardwick.??
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Hardwick Funeral Home.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2 at Loris First Baptist Church with Pastor Louis Venable officiating. Committal services will be private.
