Laura James Spivey: Myrtle Beach

1963 – 2015
Laura James Spivey of Myrtle Beach passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, at MUSC in Charleston, with her loving family by her side. She was 52.
Mrs. Spivey was born on Aug. 5, 1963 in Loris. After graduating from Southeastern Community College, Mrs. Spivey worked as a nurse at McLeod Seacoast hospital for as long as she was able. Mrs. Spivey was a devout member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and will be remembered for her unwavering faith as she was the living embodiment of a virtuous woman. She witnessed to all she met, went on numerous mission trips and served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ throughout her life.
Mrs. Spivey was the loving wife of Barry Spivey; mother of Benjamin Spivey and wife, April and Brooke Spivey Whitson and husband, William; grandmother of Nora Josaphine Whitson; daughter of Ed and Hester James; sister of Charles Timothy “Timmy” James and wife, Sandy, Samantha Skipper and husband, Tony and Jennifer Anderson and husband, Christian and was a dear friend to all who knew her.
The family planned to receive friends friends from 1 to 3 pm.. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Bethlehem Baptist Church fellowship hall .
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Kinlaw and Reverend Rory Thigpen officiating, with committal services following at Hardee Cemetery.
The family planned to receive friends friends from 1 to 3 pm.. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Bethlehem Baptist Church fellowship hall .
