L. V. “Coach” Barberousse of Loris

    L. V. “Coach” Barberousse of Loris passed away Sunday, Nov. 1. He was 91.
    Mr. Barberousse was born in Kenefic, Oklahoma, a son of the late Loris Victor Barberousse, Sr., and the late Nora Goforth Barberousse. He was a member of Loris Presbyterian Church and was a teacher and coach at Loris High School for 22 years from 1956-1978.
    He was predeceased by his wife, Ovaline Barberousse and one sister, Yvonne Lempera.
    Survivors include one son, Vic Barberousse, III and his wife Debbie of Shelby; one grandson, Vic Barberousse IV of Rockingham; one great-grandson, Jack Barberousse of Rockingham; one sister, Sue Burkhart of Norman, Oklahoma; and caregiver and friend, Peggy Jo Dorman of Loris.
    Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Rev. Tim Osment and Mr. David Carter officiating, burial following in Twin City Memorial Gardens. Visitation was planned for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
