Joseph Wayne Todd: Tabor City
1945 – 2015
Joseph Wayne Todd of Tabor City passed away Saturday, Nov. 28 at Cape Fear Hospice in Whiteville. He was 70.
Mr. Todd was born in Tabor City, a son of the late Grover and Clyde Todd. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Penn Ventilator where he was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association Local Union #399. He and his first wife served as foster parents for several years. Mr. Todd was a member of Freedom Original F.W.B. Church. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lynettee Todd, one brother, Thomas Lloyd Todd, and one sister, Evelyn Florine Todd.
Survivors include his wife, Linda J. Todd of Tabor City; one son, Jeffrey Wayne Todd (Shelley) of Tabor City; one daughter, Twyla Todd Hodges (George) of Clarendon; two grandchildren, Christopher Horst (Hannah) of Tabor City, and Kanon Hodges of Clarendon; two great grandchildren, Brennan and Adia Horst both of Tabor City; three sisters, Inez Stanley of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Jeanette Strickland of Whiteville, and Nila Faye Blackman (John) of Lumberton; and a special cousin, Laura Herring (Wayne) of Longs.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1 at Freedom Original Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 at Freedom Original Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Jackie Strickland officiating, burial following in Spivey Cemetery.
