Billy Ray Blackwell: Tabor City

1948 – 2015

    Billy Ray Blackwell of Tabor City died Monday, Dec. 7 in his home. He was 67.
    Born in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Howard James Blackwell and Ola Jane Spivey Blackwell.
    He is survived by one daughter, Kristie Lynette Blackwell of Green Sea; two brothers, C M Blackwell of Cerro Gordo, James Blackwell of Hallsboro; one sister, Carolann Blackwell of Hallsboro; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters.
     A memorial service was planned for 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10 in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, Tabor City. Family planned to receive friends during the hour prior to the service in the chapel.
