Harry Lee Wright: Loris

1939 – 2015

    Harry Lee Wright of Loris passed away Friday, Dec. 18 at Angel House Hospice Care Center in Whiteville following an illness. He was 76.
    Mr. Wright was born on Feb. 21, 1939 in Columbus County, the son Mr. Leo Wright and Mrs. Lillie Strickland Wright.
     Survivors include his two sons, Harry Wright, Jr. of Newport News, Virginia and Jimmy Wright of Roanoke, Virginia; two step-sons, Billy and Gene Shelley, both of Loris; five sisters, Mary Williamson and Lucille Wenger, both of Hampton, Virginia, Faye Blanton of Carrollton, Virginia, Pearl Ball of Fair Play, and Judy McPherson of Chadbourn, and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
     In addition to his parents, Mr. Wright was predeceased by his four brothers, Dobie, Lloyd, Harold Dean and Robert Wright and one sister, Alice Watts.
     Memorial services were planned for 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016 at Body of Believers Church in Loris, with Rev. Rodney Strickland and Rev. Lloyd Williamson officiating. Family planned to gather in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
