Evelyn Thomas Ward: Tabor City

1934 – 2016

    Evelyn Thomas Ward of Tabor City died Sunday, Jan. 10, in in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter, Whiteville. She was 81.
    Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Nolan Long and Inez Nobles Long. She was the widow of Carl Junior Ward.
    She is survived by two sons, Dale Ward (Wanda) of Tabor City, and Chris Ward (Sharon) of Green Sea; four daughters, Linda Bryant (Michael Causey) and Tammy Black (Donald) of Green Sea, Teresa Suggs (Ricky) of Loris, Cindy King (Terry) of Ash; one brother, Nathan Long of Chadbourn; four sisters, Doris Strickland and Brenda Hilbourn of Cerro Gordo, Velma Spruill of Plymouth, Debbie Etheridge of Whiteville; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great -grandchild.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.
    Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, in New Horizon Worship Center, Tabor City, with burial following in Carolina Cemetery, Green Sea.
