Dorothy Roberts Graham: Tabor City
1927 – 2016
Dorothy Roberts Graham of Tabor City went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, Jan. 15 at her home.
“Miss Dot” as she was affectionately known, was born Jan. 6, 1927 in Horry County to the late John Bentley Roberts and the late Delena Belle Hickman Roberts.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband William Howard Graham,Sr.
Her sisters, Frances Roberts and Elma Roberts Powell and her brothers Willie and James Roberts also preceded her in death.
She graduated from Green Sea High School and had extensive sales experience selling World Book Encyclopedias and selling insurance for Pilot Life. She had over thirty years experience decorating and selling for Home Interiors and Gifts of Dallas, Texas from where she received numerous honors and awards.
Miss Dot was an active member of Loris First Baptist Church where she served as pianist for the junior choir and sang in the adult choir for many years. She loved her church and attended faithfully.
Miss Dot leaves behind her beloved children, Gloria Graham Suggs, Sheran Graham Lilly, William Howard Graham, Jr. and David Graham, grandchildren, Lisa Suggs Cooke, Regina Suggs Johnson, Charles Darren Lilly, and Emma and Annie Graham. Her great grandchildren, Chase and Savannah Johnson, Madison and Blake Cooke, and Meagan Lilly.
A celebration of Miss Dot’s life was planned for 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18 at Loris First Baptist Church, with Dr. Louis Venable, Jr. officiating. Family planned to receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Interment was planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens in Mt Pleasant.
