SAT testing at SCHS off or Saturday, SCC closed, too
SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) testing scheduled for Saturday at South Columbus High School has been cancelled, due to the threat of winter weather. That testing session has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20, South Columbus Guidance Counselor Sheryl Dameron said.
All Saturday classes at Southeastern Community College have also been cancelled.
Whiteville City offices are closing at 3:30 p.m, today (Friday), though no other area offices have announced similar plans.
Temperatures that have lingered just around the freezing mark and rain has not caused any significant problems in Columbus County, Emergency Services Director Kay Worley said at mid-afternoon.
Temperatures were rising, slightly, with overnight lows expected to skirt the freezing mark.
