William Scotty Fowler: Conway

1980 – 2016

    William Scotty Fowler of Conway passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, at McLeod Loris hospital following a sudden illness. He was 35.
    Scotty was born March 25, 1980 in Loris, the son of the late Mr. Billy Gene Fowler and Mrs. Phyllis Stevens Long. He served his country with courage and honor in the United States Army, after which he worked in construction and was a member of Mt. Leon Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, April Suggs Fowler of Conway; his four children, Kain Fowler, Tripp Fowler, Timmy Perritt and Chancey Hickman all of Conway; his mother, Phyllis Stevens Long and her husband, Larry of Loris; his maternal grandmother, Mildred Stevens of Conway; his brother, Kevin Williams of Sumter; his sister, Regina Fowler of Conway; and many loving nieces and nephews.
     Mr. Fowler was predeceased by his grandfather, who raised him like a son, Mr. Jack Stevens, Sr.; and his brother, David “Tater” Everett Blanton, III.
     Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel in Loris with Rev. Fred Holmes officiating. Committal services, with military honors, followed at Stevens Cemetery.
