David Thelton Godwin of Clarendon died Friday, Feb. 12, in McLeod Loris hospital. He was 67,
Born Nov. 1, 1948 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Burris Thelton Godwin and Luria Norris Godwin.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Norris Godwin of Clarendon; a son, Burris Thelton Godwin of Thomasville; a step-daughter, Wanda Jean Dye of Clarendon; two step sons, Terry Rogers of Blountville, Tennessee and Jason Rogers of Asheville; a brother, Alton Godwin of Raeford; three sisters, Betty Leiva and Linda Lovette of Tabor City, and Annie Vargas of Green Sea; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Godwin; a son, Chris Greenwood; and four brothers, Ricky Godwin, O’Dell Godwin, Ken Godwin, Don Godwin; and two step sons: Cary Rogers, and Terry Rogers Jr.
Visitation was planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, Tabor City, with burial following in Norris Cemetery, Frank Norris Road, Tabor City.
