Rachel Lucille Long Blackwell: Tabor City

1932 – 2016

    Rachel Lucille Long Blackwell of Tabor City died Monday, March 14,  in the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington. She was 83.
    Born Nov. 15, 1932 in Columbus County, she was the widow of Carlos Blackwell and the daughter of the late John Wilson Long and Edna Mae Gore Long.
    She is survived by one son, Mark Bradley Stephens of Clarendon; one grandson, Travis Carl Stephens of Clarendon; three sisters, Monnie Long McLamb of Calabash, Nell Long Buffkin of Tabor City, Gayle Long Ward (David) of Wilmington; and one brother in law, Delmas Hinson of Clarendon.
    In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Long Hinson.
    Graveside services were planned for 4 p.m. Thursday, March 17, in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor C ity.
    Family planned to receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
