William “Papa” Jerry Sanders: Green Sea

1943 – 2016

    William “Papa” Jerry Sanders of Green Sea, age 72, passed away Tuesday, April 5, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He was 72.
    Born Nov. 16, 1943 in Marion, he was the son of the late William Houston Sanders and the late Ruby Onita Clemons.
    Mr. Sanders was a truck driver and a member of Green Sea Baptist Church but will be most remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
    Survivors include his wife, Brenda Sanders of the home; two daughters, Sherry Sanders of Green Sea and Melissa Sanders Levy and husband, Joe of Aynor; three sons, Justin W. Sanders of Marion, Craig Sarvis and Jeremy Sarvis and wife, Heather all of Green Sea; five grandchildren, Elliott Boyd and wife, Allyson, Sidney Levy, Brittany Sarvis, Gage Sarvis and Brently Sarvis; and one great-granddaughter, Sarah Boyd.
    Memorial services were planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Green Sea Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Phillips officiating. Family planned to receive friends during the hour prior to the service in the church Fellowship Hall.
