Allen B. Coats: Myrtle Beach

1933 – 2016

    Allen B. Coats of Myrtle Beach, passed away Tuesday, May 10. He was 82.
    Mr. Coats was born in Horry County a son of the late Murray Allen and Eliza Cooper Coats. 
     Mr. Coats was a veteran of the US Air Force. 
    He was predeceased by one brother, Braxton Coats; and three sisters, Louise Hundley, Bernice Singleton, and Florene Sarvis.
    Mr. Coats is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris Lilly Coats of Myrtle Beach; two sons, Gregory A. Coats of Lexington, and Bryan K. Coats of Clayton; one daughter, Kathy C. Cantrell of Johnston; one brother, Lonnie M. Coats of Concord, California; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
    A memorial service was planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Dr. William Moore and Rev. Richard Lewis officiating.
    Family planned to receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
