John A. “Johnny” Marlowe: Loris

1938 – 2016

     John A. “Johnny” Marlowe of Loris, passed away Tuesday, May 10 at McLeod hospital in Florence. He was 78.
     Born on Feb. 1, 1938 in Loris, he was the son of the late Arthur M. Marlowe and the late Meekie Reaves Marlowe.
    Mr. Marlowe was a retired farmer, a member of Loris First United Methodist Church and a friend to all.
    Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Alice Milligan Marlowe; son, Greg Marlowe and wife, Melena; daughter, Jennifer Marlowe Estes and husband, Willie; five grandchildren, Cruz, Tré, Madison, Wes and Jacob; one great-grandchild, Sidney all of Loris; sister, Carrie Lou Wright and husband, Jerry of Tabor City, and two brothers-in-law, Lewis Milligan and wife, Arlene of Columbia, and Thelbert J. “Mickey” Milligan and wife, Linda of Lilburn, Georgia.
    The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the caregivers and friends for all of their prayers, visits, love and support during this difficult time.
    Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Grady Corder and Rev. Carl Harris officiating. Committal services were to be private.
    Family planned to receive friends during the hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
