1967 – 2016
Bobbie Jo Michael Collins of Loris passed away Tuesday, May 24 at her home following an illness. She was 48.
Mrs. Collins was born on Dec. 4, 1967 in Westfield, New York. Mrs. Collins was a very active member of the Loris First United Methodist Church where she enjoyed praise dancing and was a member of the Liturgical Dance Team. As the owner of Collins Daycare for the past seventeen years her love of children and family was always apparent and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Jerome “Jerry” Harold Collins of the home, her son, James “Jay” Lloyd Collins; two daughters, Morgen Nicole Collins and Maegan Danielle Collins all of Loris; her father, Robert Michael and wife, Sandra of Panama, New York; her mother, Letitia Rae McChesney Tyler and husband, Carlyle; two sisters, Pam Askins and husband, Tommy and Christine Richardson and husband, Larry all of Marion; her father-in-law, James Collins and wife, Loraine; her brother-in-law, John Collins and wife, Tracy all of Loris; her longtime best friends, Tammy Martin Walters and Nicole Moll; step-brothers, Chris Tyler and wife, Candice all of Marion, James Tyler of Nichols, and Carl Tyler and wife, Jean of Timmonsville; step-sister, Abby Jackson and husband, Donnie of Marion, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mrs. Collins was predeceased by her sister, Cheryl Ann Marie Michael; her niece, Heather Nicole Askins and her grandparents, Ernest and Florence McChesney, Ludwick and Roseila Michael and Trody and Jane Tyler.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 26 at Hardwick Funeral Home, Loris.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Friday, May 27 at the Loris First United Methodist Church with Pastor Grady Corder officiating, committal services following at Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mullins.
