Margaret Harrelson Rabon Byrd: Rockingham

    Margaret Harrelson Rabon Byrd of Rockingham, passed away Friday, June 10 at Pruitt Health in Rockingham following an illness. She was 85.
    Born on April 30, 1931 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Olin Cleveland Harrelson and the late Luddie Bertha Suggs Harrelson. Mrs. Byrd was a retired seamstress with Specialty Garments in Asheboro and of the Baptist faith.
     Survivors include her two grandson’s, Edward Causey of Rockingham, and Tommy Causey of Elon; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Causey, Edward Causey II, Jennifer Causey and Ashley Bullard.
     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Byrd was predeceased by her first husband, Mayberry Rabon, her second husband, Handy Menston Byrd; her daughter, Luddie Estaline Blue; her three brothers, Arthur McCoy Harrelson, J. D. Harrelson and Ernest T. Harrelson and her two sisters, Geneva Strickland and Elizabeth McDowell.
     Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mack Hutson officiating. Committal services followed at Princeville Cemetery.
