Edith Boyd Buffkin: Green Sea

1940 – 2016

    Edith Boyd Buffkin of Green Sea died Sunday, June 19, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter, Whiteville. She was 76.
    Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Eva Norris Boyd. She was the widow of Cleo Braxton Buffkin.
    She is survived by two sons, Michael Buffkin of Green Sea and Kevin Jason Buffkin of Missouri; two sisters, Hilda Simmons of Lumberton and Mary Alioto of Clarendon; and six grandchildren.
    In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, AC Boyd, WB Boyd, and Wayne Boyd; and three sisters, Eloise Grimsley, Daphine Boyd, and Clara Boyd.
    Visitation was planned from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.
    Graveside services were planned to follow, at 11 a.m., at Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.
