Derek Laverne Bass: Loris

1989 – 2016

    Derek Leverne Bass, of Loris passed away Monday, June 20, in the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He was 26.
      Born July 19, 1989 in Horry County, he was the son of Marvin Laverne Bass of Tabor City and Bonnie Thompkins Guyton of Bladenboro.
    In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Ashley Watts Bass of the home; one son, Tucker Bass; one daughter, Maeleigh Bass; one brother, Jeremy Bass of Tabor City; step-father, Jeff Guyton of Bladenboro; step-mother, Teresa Bass of Tabor City; maternal grandparents, Frances and Eston Thompkins of Tabor City.
    He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marvin and Betty Jo Buffkin Bass.
    Visitation was planned for 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 24 in Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.
    Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25 in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, Tabor City, with burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.
