James Roland Bellamy, Jr.: Longs

1943 – 2016

    James Roland Bellamy, Jr. of Longs age 72, passed away Friday, June 17 at his home. He was 72.
    Mr. Bellamy was born on Dec. 23, 1943 in Fort Moultrie, South Carolina, a son of the late Mr. James Roland Bellamy, Sr. and Mrs. Mamie Todd Bellamy Everett.
    Mr. Bellamy served his country with courage and honor in the National Guard. Throughout his life Mr. Bellamy worked as a truck driver, logger, farmer and in construction. He was a longtime member of Buck Creek Baptist Church but will be most remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all.
    Survivors, including his mother of Longs, are his wife of fifty-one years, Aurelia Mae Mincey Bellamy of the home; two sons, James Gary Bellamy of Longs,  and his friend Lynn Lancaster and William Kevin Bellamy and wife, Paula Blanton Bellamy of Loris; four grandchildren, Sherra Cox and husband, Jason, Adrian Hughes and husband, Aaron, Kalynn Bellamy and Gabriel Bellamy all of Loris; four great-grandchildren, Chaton Hughes, Nora Brynn Hughes, Levi Cox and Audrey Kate Cox; two brothers, Mark Bellamy and wife, Cheryl of Ninety-Six, and William Larry Bellamy and wife, Cynthia of Loris, and his sister, LeRhonda Byrd and husband, Doug of Loris.
    Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Monday, June 20 at Buck Creek Cemetery with Pastor Larry Allen officiating.
