Archie Earl Powell: Summerton

1936 – 2016

    Archie Earl Powell of Summerton died Wednesday, June 22 at his home. He was 79.
    Mr. Powell was the widower of Yvonne Luxette Powell.
    Born Sept. 27, 1936 in Whiteville, he was a son of the late Archie Bell Powell and the late Sana Long Powell. He was a retired salesman for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
    He is survived by a daughter, Sherry Powell of Summerton; a son, Kevin Powell of Fayetteville; two grandsons; a great granddaughter; three sisters, Evelyn Heatherly of Raleigh, Carol Heath of Fayetteville, and Doris Ann Spears of Antioch, Tennessee.
    A memorial service was held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Polly’s Landing in Summerton, with Bishop Rick Dutton officiating.
