Maurice Lynn Spivey: Tabor City

    Maurice Lynn Spivey of Tabor City died Friday, July 1, in Columbus Regional Healthcare, Whiteville. He was 64.
    Born in Horry County, he was the son of the late Marvin Spivey and Brookie Hardee Spivey of Tabor City.
    In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Elsa Ann Spivey; three daughters, Angela Renee Spivey of Ashboro, Rhonda Michelle Spivey of Fayetteville, and Maxie Spivey McPherson of Chadbourn; a son, Christopher Maurice Spivey of Whiteville; five step children, Preston Sasser, Timothy Sasser, Michael Sasser, and Jonathan Long of Tabor City and Crystal Wilkes of Lumberton, two brothers, Randy Spivey and Michael Spivey of Chadbourn; two sisters, Kay Spivey of Whiteville and Renee Sellers of Tabor City; and eleven grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Britney Long.
    Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 4, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, Tabor City. Burial followed in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.
