Evelyn Boyd Dorman: Conway

1944 – 2016

    Evelyn Boyd Dorman of Conway passed away on Saturday, July 2, at her home in Conway. She was 71.
    Mrs. Dorman was born on Oct. 1, 1944 in Loris, a daughter of the late William Roscoe Boyd and the late Bertha McCracken Boyd. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Good Hope Baptist Church but will be most remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all.
    Survivors include her husband, Odell Dorman of the home; two daughters, Dana Groome and husband, Brent of Conway, and Dara Dorman of Loris; five grandchildren, Kirby and Evan Groome, Zachary and Jacob Cooper and Elijah Shaw; one great-grandchild, Grace Elizabeth Cooper; one brother, Elton Boyd and wife, Ella Ann of Loris, and one sister, Eloise Sarvis of Conway.
     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dorman was pre-deceased by one brother, Thelton Boyd.
    Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 3, at Good Hope Baptist Church with Pastor John Sullivan officiating. Committal services were private.
