Ivey C. Duncan: Leland
1924 – 2016
Ivey C. Duncan of Leland died Monday, July 11 in the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center in Bolivia. He was 91.
Born Aug. 24, 1924 in Socastee, he was the son of the late Luther Duncan and Hannah Stalvy Duncan and the widower of Helen Rymkiewicz Duncan.
He is survived by one brother, Charles Warren Duncan of Lexington; one sister, Juanita Duncan Strickland of Clarendon; nine nieces, Janice Duncan of Oak Island, Gina Duncan of Lexington, Shirley Hannah of West Virginia, Lorraine Duncan of Tabor City, Cathy Duncan of Marion, Carol Isenburg of Southport, Sandra Padgett of Belleair, Florida, Marilyn Duncan of Tabor City, Judy Hayes of Lake Norman; and three nephews, Charles Duncan Jr. of Lexington, B.R. Cannon of Tennessee, and Barry Duncan of Vieques, Puerto Rico; and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Duncan, Ila Rhodes, Geneva Cannon; one brother, Berris JR Duncan; two nieces, Linda Jacobs, Patricia Duncan; and one nephew, Mitchell Wayne Duncan.
Mr. Duncan was a retired Veteran of the United States Army.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 in Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 14 in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.
