Clara Watts: Loris

1933 – 2016
Clara Watts of Loris passed away Wednesday, July 13. She was 83.
Mrs. Watts was born in Tabor City, a daughter of the late Winslow McCoy and Amanda Carsettia Phipps.
She loved to travel and especially loved Nashville. Mrs. Watts enjoyed caring for other people, reading, and eating fried fish. She loved her family, this was her greatest joy, and most of her time and attention was spent on them. Mrs. Watts attended Cane Branch Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Dailon Phipps and J. C. Phipps; sister, Mable Fowler; and niece, Ila Gray Stevens.
Survivors include her husband, Rossie E. Watts; her children, Brenda Phipps Soles and her husband Tate, Darrell Phillips and his wife Koni, Tammy Suggs and her husband Teddy, Patricia Allen, and Kevin Phillips; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews with special thanks to Buster, Sharon, Mike, Vivian, Sherry, Jimmy, Gail, Jeff, and Kay.
Visitation was planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 15 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.
Funeral services were planned for 4 p.m. Saturday, July 16 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Rev. Jon Johnson officiating, burial following in the Cane Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
