Vera McPherson: Chadbourn

1923 to 2016

    Vera McPherson of Chadbourn died Monday, July 18 in her home. She was 93.
     Born Jan. 14, 1923 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Porter McPherson and Ella Cribb McPherson and the widow of Roy McPherson.
    She is survived by three sons, Jack and Ted McPherson, both of Chadbourn, and Ned McPherson of Clarendon; three daughters, Margie Godwin, Judy Mehalic, and Pat Long, all of Chadbourn; one sister, Rachel Lang of Cary; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, one son, Tim McPherson; three brothers, Phillip McPherson, Leon McPherson, Carson McPherson, and two sisters, Rebecca Cartret and Bessie McPherson.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 in Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church, Chadbourn.
    Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 20 in Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church, Chadbourn, with burial following in McPherson Cemetery, Chadbourn.
