Marie G. Sellers: Whiteville

1940 – 2016

    Marie G. Sellers of Whiteville died Saturday, July 23, in McLeod Loris hospital. She was 75.
    Born July 27, 1940 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late James Godwin and Lillie Fowler Godwin and the widow of John Kelly Sellers Jr.
    She is survived by two daughters, Penny McPherson (Handy) of Chadbourn and Sherry Duncan (Bryant) of Chadbourn; a son, Terry Sellers (Linda) of Chadbourn; six grandchildren, Steven Sellers, Barry Sellers (Brittany) , Hugh Thomas McPherson ( Erica) , Hunter McPherson, Travis Sykes (Amy), Kelly Cribb (Brandon); ten great grandchildren, Reah Sellers, Kloe Sellers, Jaxon Sellers, Tannor Sykes, Summer Strickland, Chase Soles, Maclyn Soles, Collin Sellers, Mason Sellers, and Aubrey Sellers.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Robbie Jo Sellers; and one brother, James Eugene “Bo” Godwin.
    She was owner and operator of Sellers Greenhouse. She was a retired EMT member of the Tabor City Rescue Squad and an Auxiliary member.
    Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 25, in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.
    Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Whiteville.
