South Columbus Dixie Softball Angels X-Play and Columbus County Dixie Softball Debs, both representing North Carolina after state tournament wins earlier this month, left Tabor City Thursday morning for Alexandria, Louisiana and the Dixie Softball World Series.
Both teams begin play in double-elimination tournaments starting Saturday, with hopes of playing through he finals next Wednesday.
North Carolina Dixie Softball Angels X-Play players include Elizabeth Strickland, Alexus Barnes, Isabella Coleman, Tori Grainger, Greenley Hardee, Peyton Brooks, Kyleigh Manning, Jada McDowell, Brileigh Ward, Jordyn Turbeville, Carmen Buck, and Riley Gore. Jeff Fowler is head coach. Assistant coaches are Jerome Ward and Chad Turbeville.
North Carolina Dixie Debs players include Ariel Sykes, Aleysha Givens, Bailey Russ, Alexis Suggs, Donnicqua Johnson, Lindsey Jones, Sadryne Jacobs, Amanda Watts, Simone Spaulding, Kailey Paul, Olivia Kissam, and Hailey Sarvis. Steven Suggs is head coach. Assistant coaches are Gary Sykes and Travis Paul.
