Helen Jean Cox Bell: Loris

1935 – 2016
 
    Helen Jean Cox Bell of Loris passed away Thursday, Aug. 4 at her daughter’s home in Pireway. She was 80.
    Born Dec. 14, 1935 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late John Davis Cox and the late Helen Skipper Cox.
    Throughout her life Mrs. Bell was a farmer, worked at Richard’s BBQ and Shorty’s Grill and was of the Baptist faith.
     Survivors include her two daughters, Vicky Lou Faulk and husband, Weldon of Pireway, and Teressa Burrows of Loris; one son, David Edgar Bell, Jr. and wife Kathy, of Pireway; four grandchildren, Racheal Williams and husband, Michael of Clarendon, Randy Spivey and wife, Amy of Aynor, Chrissie Norris and husband, Billy of Williams Township, and Cory Spivey of Tabor City; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher, Trent, Amanda, Jaydon, Cowyn, Autumn, Landon and Aaliyah; one brother, Lloyd Cox and one sister, Gladys Raspovich both of Loris, SC.
     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bell was predeceased by her ex-husband, David Edgar Bell, Sr.; two grandchildren, Daniel “Little Man” Cox III and Alexis Brooke Williams; four brothers, Tom, Boyd, Jack and J.D. Cox and three sisters, Dalma Cox, Geneva Faircloth and Grace Singletary.
     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mack Hutson officiating, committal services following at Princeville Cemetery.
